This week is U.S. National Health IT week (#NHITweek), a movement organized by HIMSS and the Institute for e-Policy that focuses on sharing stories and raising awareness of the real-world impact of healthcare information technology. NHIT Week engages constituents, including congressional, federal, and state agencies; healthcare providers; non-profit organizations; and vendors, to host both virtual and live events with the sole purpose of amplifying conversations around the power of healthcare IT.

 

As an agency centered on healthcare IT, NHIT Week is singularly important to us. This weeklong initiative aims, as we do every day, to demonstrate the universal value of healthcare IT and its significance to the betterment of every single community.

COVID has had a huge impact on healthcare, and will continue to for years to come.  Some of the changes, like the ability to muster a massive response to a rapid influx of patients, are obvious, but others are more subtle and unexpected.  From my perspective, working primarily with technology companies seeking to help health systems, health plans and other stakeholders innovate and evolve, I have seen some very interesting changes in where healthcare decision-makers are shifting their attention and investing their money and resources.

Last month, my fellow SAE Danielle Johns and I had the opportunity to attend INFLUENCEHER Week in the Seaport district in downtown Boston. Organized by the Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange (MITX), the event featured an inspiring lineup of panels (one of which featured Julie Yoo, CSO and Co-Founder of Kyruus, one of Aria’s clients!), presentations, and workshops to promote and further women leaders and entrepreneurs in the technology industry.
