While most of our friends and family remain blissfully unaware of the convoluted Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) Quality Payment Program, we at Aria are all too familiar. In fact, several of our clients are leading authorities on MACRA, which is why we had been preparing for weeks for the impending announcement of the Final Rule (a major step in reforming how the health care system pays for care). The issue, however, was that no one knew when the Final Rule would actually be announced.

As a PR agency that works solely in the healthcare space, we’ve learned to keep our fingers on the pulse of an industry that is in constant flux. So, when the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) finalized its new payment system for Medicare clinicians on Friday, October 14th, we knew it was “go-time”.

As soon as we heard the news, we began reaching out to reporters to offer our clients as expert commentators to ensure they were included in the MACRA dialogue. And, I’m pleased to report that all of our proactive and reactive work paid off in the end as we were able to secure interviews for our clients with a number of top industry publications such as HealthLeaders, Modern Healthcare, Health Data Management and Healthcare Informatics. Congrats to my Aria team for a job well done!
