Our team at Aria is growing like weeds this summer! For this blog post, I got to know our newest account coordinator, Danielle Adams, and account executive, Kara McCrudden, and found out some of their big life goals, dreams, and favorite things (including their mutual love of defunct bands from the early-2000’s, and Harry Potter).

  1. Give us the 411: (where are you from, where did you go to school, where are you living now, pets, general interests, hobbies, fun facts, pets?)

Danielle Adams: My dad was in the Army so I’m not really “from” one place. I was born in North Carolina, but the longest place I lived was New York. I went to college at Champlain College in Vermont. I am currently living in Chelsea, MA. I have one cat named Bandit, but at my parents’ house we have two horses and a bunch of barn cats. I love music and going to concerts, reading, and kayaking.

Kara McCrudden: I was born and raised in the Ocean State (aka Rhode Island). I moved to Massachusetts to attend Stonehill College in Easton, MA. It is a super small school so I’m not surprised if you haven’t heard of it – if you are familiar you probably know its reputation for having a beautiful campus, which was one of my favorite things about going to college there. After graduation I moved to Somerville, MA where I just happily extended my lease for another year. Unfortunately, my apartment doesn’t allow pets, so I can’t get a dog quite yet, but my dog (Ginny, named for the Harry Potter character) is living with my family and I still get to see him to get my puppy fix. I try to stay active, and I like running, trying new workout classes and playing soccer. I actually joined a soccer league in Boston which has been a great way to meet people. Fun fact: I lived in Florence for a semester in college and visited nine different countries during my time there.

  1. What is one thing you are most looking forward to in the next year?

DA: I’m hoping that I’ll be able to take a vacation in the next year to somewhere warm and tropical. My dream vacation would be going to the Mediterranean. I’ve always wanted to go to Italy and Greece.

KM: In the next year, I am looking forward to visiting some places I have never been. I have some upcoming trips planned for San Diego, CA and Charlotte, NC but I am hoping to plan some other (probably more local) trips later in the year. A dream vacation of mine would be a road trip across the U.S.!

  1. What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

DA: Travelling. I want to go to as many countries as possible and experience those cultures.

KM: I’m not sure if this counts as a hobby, but if time and money weren’t an issue I would like to foster shelter dogs. I would definitely get super attached but I think it would be fun and rewarding to take a dog in while it waits for its permanent home.

  1. What book and/or podcast would you recommend and why?

DA: The Harry Potter series; they’re my all-time favorite books. I don’t listen to a lot of podcasts, but I like Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness because I love Queer Eye.

KM: “Seriously… I’m Kidding,” by Ellen DeGeneres. It’s a pretty quick read but it is very funny and I couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for a book to make you laugh I would definitely recommend it, plus Ellen is probably my favorite person ever.

  1. If you could see any band or performer in concert, living or dead, who would it be (or have you seen them already)?

DA: My Chemical Romance; they broke up a while ago though so it is definitely a pipe dream!

KM: This is going to sound weird, but I would really like to see a Jonas Brothers reunion concert. I probably went to about 5 or 6 of them when I was younger and was devastated when they “broke up” (plus I was convinced I was going to marry Nick Jonas). Even though that’s definitely not happening I think it would be fun to see them again.

  1. What is a big life goal or item on your bucket list?

DA: Learn how to surf!

KM: Explore creative writing more. I’m still in the process of deciding how I want to go about this and what I want to write about, but I’ve always loved to write and want to learn more about it!
